Coronavirus in Brevard, Oct. 26: 28 more cases, 11,083 total; no new deaths confirmed

The Florida Department of Health confirmed 28 new COVID-19 cases in Brevard on Monday, bringing the total to 11,083: 11,029 residents and 54 non-residents.

The county reported no new deaths. A total of 366 Florida resident deaths in Brevard have been confirmed by the state since the beginning of the pandemic, and 219 have been staff or residents of long term care facilities such as nursing homes. A total of 993 residents have been hospitalized in Brevard.

Of the 119,387 total people tested for the coronavirus in Brevard, 11,083 (9.28%) have tested positive. Of those, 5,096 were men and 5,900 were women.

On Sunday, 588 Florida residents were tested in Brevard, and 28 (4.76%) tested positive.

As of 2:15 Monday, 60 Brevard residents were hospitalized with coronavirus, down four from Sunday, according to data from the Agency for Health Care Administration.

Across Brevard’s seven major hospitals, 378 (29%) of 1,311 total staffed beds were available. In those hospitals, 41 (26%) out of 157 adult ICU beds were available.

Statewide data 

FDOH data show the state added 3,377 cases Monday for a total of 782,013 cases (771,989 residents and 10,024 nonresidents).

Of 5,992,068 people tested, 782,013 have tested positive for a cumulative 13.05% positivity rate.

Statewide, 16,652 people have died from the virus, with 20 new deaths recorded Monday.

On Sunday, 3,361 (5.91%) of 56,877 residents tested negative.
