Vocalist and talk program host Kelly Clarkson got real speaking about life after declaring divorce from other half Brandon Blackstock throughout a “Today” show interview.

“I suggest, it’s obvious. My life has actually been a bit of a dumpster,” Clarkson, 38, confessed to host Willie Geist throughout a video call Sunday. “Personally, it’s been a little difficult the last couple months.”

“I’ve been speaking to good friends that have been through a divorce,” Clarkson continued. “I do not understand how people go through that without having some type of outlet, since it is the worst thing ever for everybody involved.”

In June, Clarkson declared divorce with other half and supervisor Blackstock, after 7 years of marriage, mentioning irreconcilable differences. They have 2 children: child River, 6, and son Remington, 4. and Clarkson is stepmother to Blackstock’s two kids from a previous m

Clarkson won a Daytime Emmy in June for “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” and thanked her previous partner. “Thank you so much to @BBlackstock for thinking in me & convincing me to do @KellyClarksonTV,” she shouted out to him on Twitter. But Clarkson

said her upcoming album will be filled with the feelings she’s been feeling leading up to and since the split.

“This next record will most likely be the most personal one I have actually ever launched,” she stated. “The whole record is basically every feeling that you experience from the start of a relationship to end of what it is now. It’s been really restorative for me.”

It’s the very first time she has ever delved into many “personal” problems in an album, still untitled and due out next year. Clarkson admits it does get a little unusual playing the individual music with her kids listening and even singing along.

“There’s one that my kids sing in the car, because I’m going through blends, it’s like, ‘This is weird, It’s your relationship,'” says Clarkson, who doesn’t believe they comprehend the deeper meaning. “That’s a bit various. However whatever. It is what it is.”‘

Clarkson will back with Season 2 of her talk show and also be back training “The Voice” on Oct. 19. “We’re lucky, because we get to hear live music. Not everyone gets that today.”
